About DS Elite

Who We Are

Our mission is simple: allow every player who loves this game to play it at whatever level she can.

Our story

Why DS Elite exists

DS Elite started with one belief: there had to be a better way to do club volleyball.

Families spend thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours with their club every year, and too many end up feeling like outsiders. Drew Rose believed a club could treat families as partners, keep the game fun, and still compete at a high level.

There also weren’t enough chances for girls in our community to play club volleyball, and the alternative was hours every week in the car to gyms across Austin.

So we built the club here, for here.

Drew Rose

Drew Rose is a military veteran, cybersecurity expert, and serial entrepreneur who has called Dripping Springs home for years. A lifelong volleyball player and fan, he spent four years as a head coach and served as President of the Dripping Springs Youth Sports Association (DSYSA) Volleyball program before founding DS Elite. He also founded Dripping Springs Sports Club (DSSC), where DS Elite trains.

He and his wife Ashley are the proud parents of three daughters, Bella, Juliet, and Emilia. Ashley founded the Dripping Springs Kardivas, a character development program for fifth-grade girls. Together they share one mission: to use sports, mentorship, and community to help grow well-rounded young women.

Our values

The best-run club in Texas

Transparency, empathy, and communication. Elite training and a work hard attitude, from the director down to the first-year player.

  1. Transparency

Published prices, clear policies, and straight answers.

  2. Empathy

Families are partners, not customers, and players are kids first.

  3. Elite training

Game-like, high-touch practices, and coaches who are trained, evaluated, and supported.

  4. Work hard

Everyone does the work. Players leave tired, better, and excited to come back.

  • Player engagementover coach control
  • Game applicationover isolated drills
  • Consistent communicationover silent observation
  • Cultureover immediate results
  • Serving excellenceas the foundation of success

What success means

What a good season looks like

It isn’t a record.

  1. 01

Every player better in May than they were in September

  2. 02

A team that still likes each other in March

  3. 03

Players who can name what they learned

  4. 04

    Families who’d do it again

Culture

Culture and respect for the game

We win because we believe in the power of the team.

Not perfection. Partnership.

Drew Rose, Founder

A great club culture is when players, parents, and coaches all work together, not against each other. That takes trust that when a decision is made, it is for the betterment of the player and the team, even when it is hard to hear.

Tough conversations still happen. When trust has been built, everybody walks away better. Not angry. Not defensive. Better.

Being a teammate

Nobody eats alone. Nobody warms up alone. Nobody sits alone.

  • The bench is a job: cheer by name, track the rotation, and be ready to go in cold.
  • Nothing about a teammate, a coach, or a match goes on social media.
  • Nobody plans without everybody. If players are planning something at a tournament, every player on the roster is invited.

Respect for the game

After a bad call: next play.

  • Only the head coach and the game captain speak to an official.
  • We shag balls for the other team. “If you shank it, shag it.”
  • Cheer for us. Respect them. Build us up, but don’t tear them down.

You are a coach. Not a clipboard.

Every athlete deserves a great coach, and great coaches don’t happen by accident.

At the end of the season, every athlete should be able to name something you taught them.

Coach T, to our coaching staff

One club. One voice. One standard.

Bring the energy. Keep it elite.

Baseline expectations

The baseline every player is held to

  1. Effort & Hustle

    • Every ball is playable until it hits the floor
    • Sprint to your position, don’t jog
  2. Communication

    • Communication is more important than skills
    • If you don’t call it, you can’t have it
  3. Offense

    • Attack everything attackable
    • Swing aggressive, not safe
  4. Defense

    • Defense starts with your serve
    • Read, don’t react
  5. Mental Toughness

    • Mistakes happen, quitting doesn’t
    • Play every point like it’s 24-24
  6. Team Culture

    • Celebrate your teammates, not yourself
    • Leave your ego at the door
  7. Accountability

    • Own your errors, don’t blame teammates
    • Be early, be ready, be focused
  8. Tournament Standard

    • Tournament intensity starts in practice
    • Compete for everything
