About Kristen

Kristen grew up in Austin (before it was cool), graduated from Austin High School (where she definitely was not cool), and played club volleyball for Austin Junior Volleyball (which is kinda cool). She holds degrees from the University of Texas in Business Honors and Finance and had a successful 15-year career in investment banking and real estate development. She now focuses on real estate projects in Austin and Boston when she isn’t running operations for DS Elite.

Kristen lived with her family in Boston for 13 years, where she competed in an advanced co-ed 4’s volleyball league. Since returning to Austin, Kristen has spent the last four years coaching youth volleyball, including two years coaching rec volleyball at Hill Country Indoor and two seasons as an assistant coach with DS Elite and Austin Performance.

Volleyball has remained a constant source of healthy competition, friendship, and personal growth throughout her life. She is passionate about helping players develop not only their athletic skills, but also the confidence, teamwork, resilience, and character that the sport teaches.

Outside of volleyball, Kristen is an artist who enjoys studio art, architecture, and design. She also wastes all her money on adventurous travel and has explored destinations all over the world (over 30+ countries!) Most of all, she loves her family, a good joke, and an early bedtime.
