Stay on schedule

Put your team’s schedule on your phone.

Subscribe once and your team’s practices and tournaments show up in your calendar app.

Open your team’s page (Teams, then your team).
Tap Apple Calendar or Google Calendar, and confirm. Other apps: copy the link and add it as a calendar by URL.
Changes can take a while to show up. For anything urgent, your coach posts in SportsYou.

Find your team

New to DS Elite

After you accept your spot.

Sign the commitment email
It goes to the parent email on your registration. Read it together and sign.
Join SportsYou
Your coach sends an access code. Codes expire after 24 hours, so if yours doesn’t arrive, tell your coach.
Come to orientation
We cover the culture, the season, and what we ask of players and families, then you get time with your coach.
Get text updates
Schedule changes, weather cancellations, and club announcements, by text.

Game day

What a tournament weekend looks like.

Arrive one hour early
Players arrive one hour before start time, in full travel gear.
The high-five line
Parents line the sideline to high-five the girls before and after every match.
Reffing and work duties
Teams rotate reffing all season. No one leaves the gym until the whole team is finished.
Stats and film
Stats are kept at every tournament to ensure equitable playing time, and at least two matches are filmed for breakdown.

Communication

SportsYou is how we communicate.

If it isn’t in the app, it didn’t happen.

What to expect from your coach:

A weekly message to the team
Tournament schedules as soon as they are released
The Day 2 plan, before leaving the venue on Day 1
Posts for announcements and schedule changes, and chat for day-to-day coordination
A message if the coach is running late

When something is wrong

Your coach is the first line, every time.

Everything starts with your coach. If it needs a director, your coach brings it to us.

24-hour rule

Never during a tournament. Not between matches. Not in the parking lot.

The 24-hour rule is a cooling-off period, so conversations stay productive.

Players talk to their coach first.
Parents go to the coach before the director.
Nothing about playing time until 24 hours after the tournament.
In writing first, then a scheduled meeting with both coaches present.
If it isn’t resolved, it comes to Coach T.

In the stands

Parent and spectator code.

We support our players with positive encouragement.

Don’t coach from the sidelines.
Respect the officials. Concerns go through proper channels after the match.
Spot a scoring error? Quietly tell a DS Elite coach or the team representative.
Cheer our points, never at the other team, and congratulate opponents.
Follow the USA Volleyball Code of Conduct: no alcohol, tobacco, or vaping at the venue.

The ride home: “I loved watching you play.”

The basics

Practice, attendance, and gear.

Attendance
100% attendance at scheduled practices. Running late? Tell your coach two hours before practice.
Gear
Knee pads are mandatory and ankle braces recommended. Headbands and pre-wrap in pink, grey, or black. Hair up, nails short, and taping done before the match. No new piercings during the season. Volleyball shoes are for indoors only.
Phones
Silenced and out of sight at practice. No phones, AirPods, or headphones at the scorer’s table.
Social media
Nothing about a teammate, a coach, or a match goes on social media.

Travel

Travel and hotels, handled by club operations.

Coach Kristen, our Operations Manager, handles logistics, hotels, uniforms, and registration.

Stay-to-play
Some tournaments require booking through the event’s housing partner. If enough families book elsewhere, the team can lose its spot.
Which events
Mostly our national qualifiers: Lone Star Regionals, Lone Star Classic, the West Coast qualifier, and Red Rock Rave.
Our hotel pick
As close to the convention center as possible, even if it means a king plus a rollaway over two queens.
What you do
When we send the housing link, book through it. You will have less than one week, and it is not optional.

Team store

The team store opens three times a season.

When a window closes, it closes.

Each window stays open for three weeks.
Orders arrive three to four weeks after the store closes.
All sales are final, so check sizing before checkout.

Photos

Send us your photos.

Each family gets one upload link per team. Bookmark it.

Tell us where the photos are from.
Upload up to 40 at a time. Videos are fine too.
Add your name, so we know who to thank.

Get involved

Ways families help.

Lead the cheers
One or two parents per team help lead the club cheers. It is a difference-maker for momentum.
Video and scorekeeping
Each team lines up one parent for video and one for scorekeeping. Your coach sets the rotation.
