About Tara

Tara is a Dripping Springs High School graduate and a lifelong multi-sport athlete and coach with over 30 years of combined playing and coaching experience.

Tara played basketball at UTSA for two years before continuing her collegiate athletic career playing volleyball at Texas State for two years. Her extensive background across multiple sports has shaped her deep understanding of competition, teamwork, and athlete development.

Throughout her coaching career, Tara has worked across a wide range of levels and programs, including AJV, Texas Fury, Roots, Knockout, and several others. She has also coached boys’ high school volleyball at St. Andrew’s and St. Stephen’s, becoming the second woman in the state of Texas to do so. In addition, she has coached 8th grade girls and spent significant time running camps and youth leagues, including extensive work with HCI in Lake Travis.

With experience coaching nearly every age group and level of play, Tara has developed a strong passion for youth development. At this stage in her career, she values the opportunity to work with young athletes at the ground level—helping them build strong fundamentals, confidence, and a love for the game from the beginning. She also enjoys helping parents better understand the sport and the development process.

Tara believes volleyball is a truly unique sport that builds character, resilience, and teamwork in a way few other sports can. She views it as the ultimate team game and is passionate about sharing that experience with her athletes.

Fun fact: Tara is completely ambidextrous—she can write in cursive backwards with both hands. She is mostly left-handed, plays basketball right-handed, and plays volleyball left-handed.

Tara is excited to continue doing what she loves most—developing young athletes and growing the game of volleyball.
