Rene Sandoval

About Rene

Rene attended San Diego State University and brings a passion for volleyball, an energetic coaching style, and a commitment to helping athletes grow both on and off the court.

While stationed in San Diego, Rene spent countless hours playing sand volleyball and developing a love for the sport. His passion for indoor volleyball grew while watching the San Diego State Lady Aztecs train and compete, an experience that inspired a deeper appreciation for the game and its competitive nature.

Rene is known for his enthusiasm, positivity, and relentless mindset. One of the qualities that defines him most is his belief in perseverance—he never quits. He strives to instill that same determination in his athletes, encouraging them to work hard, overcome challenges, and continue improving every day.

As a coach, Rene brings energy and excitement to every practice and competition. He loves teaching the game, building relationships with athletes, and creating an environment where players can develop confidence, skills, and a genuine love for volleyball.

Outside of coaching, Rene’s passion for the game remains as strong as ever. He is loud, energetic, and always ready to support and encourage those around him. His enthusiasm is contagious, and he is excited to share that passion with the athletes of DS Elite.

Rene is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the DS Elite family and looks forward to helping the athletes of 14 Ruby learn, grow, and have an incredible season.
