About Rob

Rob brings a wealth of high-level playing experience, a passion for athlete development, and an energetic approach to coaching.

Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, Rob began his volleyball journey playing secondary school volleyball for Naparima College. His talent on the court quickly earned him an invitation to national team tryouts. While he initially tried out for the beach volleyball program, he ultimately became a member of the Trinidad and Tobago Youth National Volleyball Team, representing his country in international competition.

His success at the national level led to a collegiate volleyball scholarship at the University of Charleston, where he competed as a middle blocker in the EIVA. During his collegiate career, Rob established himself as a strong and impactful player while continuing to develop his knowledge and understanding of the game. He later earned his MBA from the University of Charleston in 2020.

As a coach, Rob is passionate about helping athletes grow both on and off the court. One of his core beliefs is the importance of lifelong learning. He encourages athletes to continually seek new knowledge, embrace challenges, and look for opportunities to improve themselves in all areas of life. He believes that growth, curiosity, and a willingness to learn are key ingredients for both athletic and personal success.

Outside of volleyball, Rob loves to dance and is rarely able to resist moving when music is playing. Don’t be surprised if you catch him doing a little two-step during practice or at a tournament!

Rob is excited to be part of the DS Elite family and looks forward to helping athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and create lasting memories through the game of volleyball.
