About Mikayla
Mikayla attended Manor High School and later graduated from Texas State University. Her love for volleyball began in fifth grade and has remained a constant throughout her life.
Growing up, Mikayla participated in UT Volleyball Camps and played club volleyball with AJV Cedar Park while also competing at the high school level through her senior year. After deciding to focus on her studies in college, she continued playing recreational volleyball at Texas State before stepping away from the game to focus on raising her son. When her son was four years old, Mikayla found her way back to the sport she loves and began coaching, reigniting her passion for athlete development and competition.
Over the past three years, Mikayla has coached both volleyball and track and field and recently completed her first season coaching club volleyball. She loves helping athletes build confidence, develop their skills, and discover what they are capable of achieving through hard work and dedication.
Mikayla brings energy, positivity, and enthusiasm to everything she does. She believes athletes perform their best when they are having fun, building strong relationships, and enjoying the process of learning and competing. While she values hard work and accountability, she also loves creating an environment filled with laughter, encouragement, and team connection.
Outside of volleyball, Mikayla loves to dance, play games, and spend time with family and friends. She is known for her positive attitude and ability to bring joy and energy wherever she goes.
Mikayla is excited to continue growing the game at DS Elite and looks forward to leading the athletes of 15 Sapphire and 14 Emerald through a fun, challenging, and rewarding season.
