About Hunter

Hunter brings a lifelong passion for volleyball and a strong playing background to his coaching. Coming from a volleyball-rich family, the sport has been a central part of his life from an early age, helping shape his love for competition, teamwork, and athletic development.

With more than 18 years of coaching experience, including international coaching experience, Hunter has worked with athletes of varying ages and skill levels, helping them develop technically, mentally, and competitively. His diverse coaching background has given him a broad perspective on player development and the ability to adapt his coaching style to meet the needs of individual athletes and teams.

A former setter, Hunter played high school volleyball at Mira Costa High School in Manhattan Beach, California, one of the nation's premier volleyball programs and widely regarded as the mecca of volleyball in Southern California. His experience competing in such a highly respected volleyball community helped shape his understanding of the game and commitment to excellence.

Hunter continued his volleyball career playing Division I Men's Volleyball at the University of Southern California, where he further developed his knowledge of the sport, leadership skills, and competitive mindset. Drawing from his experience as a setter, he emphasizes communication, court awareness, decision-making, and teamwork in his coaching approach.

As a coach, Hunter is dedicated to helping athletes build strong fundamentals, improve their volleyball IQ, and gain confidence both on and off the court. He strives to create a positive and challenging environment where players can develop their skills, compete at a high level, and foster a lifelong love for the game.

Hunter is passionate about mentoring the next generation of volleyball players and helping each athlete reach their full potential through hard work, discipline, and a team-first mentality.

Outside of volleyball, Hunter enjoys spending time with his family and children. Family is the most important thing in his life, and he strives to bring those same values of respect, commitment, support, and teamwork into his coaching. He believes that strong character and strong relationships are the foundation for success both on and off the court.

Fun Fact: Hunter comes from a family where all of his siblings have names that start with the letter "H," making family introductions a memorable experience.
